This website
is designed to calculate your unborn baby’s
weight by employing standard ultrasound
equations using fetal measurements that
are obtained during a typical obstetrical
ultrasound examination. More than 50 such
ultrasound equations have been developed
for predicting fetal weight previously,
and no single equation is the best under
all circumstances.
Ultrasound equations predict
fetal weight based on various combinations
of standard fetal biometric measurements,
such as the unborn baby’s biparietal
diameter [BPD], head circumference [HC],
abdominal circumference [AC], and femur
length [FL], all of which are visualized
and measured during an ultrasound study
that is performed to view your baby before
it is born.
This website uses 26 different
ultrasound equations that incorporate standard
ultrasonographic fetal measurements to predict
fetal weight. All have been published previously
by reputable medical authors in peer-reviewed
medical journals.
All that is necessary for you
to use this website to predict your fetus’s
weight is to have the standard ultrasonographic
fetal measurements that are generally obtained
during a typical obstetrical ultrasound
examination. These measurements are often
reported on a sheet that summarizes the
findings of your fetus’s ultrasound
study, or on a photograph of your baby’s
image from an ultrasound machine, or on
a videotape/ CD recording of your baby’s
ultrasound examination.
Please feel free to browse
this website for general information concerning
ultrasound and fetal weight prediction.
Once you are ready to proceed, simply click
on the “Start Now” button to
begin by entering your unborn baby’s
ultrasound measurements. The results will
be presented to you for as many ultrasound
equations that can be used with the numerical
information that you provide.
